Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Walton’s father was also a dentist. Naturally, this led to him becoming interested in the field early on. He appreciates many of the different aspects of dentistry, such as getting to interact with patients one-on-one and the mix of art and science. It’s no wonder that he eventually decided to follow his father’s example and pursue a similar career.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

After he graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University (where he gained recognition as a skilled tennis player and was even entered into the Ohio Wesleyan Hall of Fame), Dr. Walton attended The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery.

Dr. Walton acted as a part-time clinical instructor at OSU for a decade. During his career, he worked for two insurance companies as a dental consultant. He is currently part of the Ohio Testing Commission, which provides advanced certifications for dental assistants.

Thanks to a number of advanced courses offered by Spear Education, the Dawson Academy, and the Seattle Study Club, Dr. Walton continues to expand his dental skill set. He holds membership with the American Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association, and the Columbus Dental Association.
